After 1 iced tea, 1 water, 2 salads (size of a side salad), the bill was $35! For lettuce, tomato, cheese and 7 very small shrimp on the salad. You can get a better salad at Subway!!!! Service was very slow. On a positive note, the atmosphere was very Cajun and had character.

After a long drive from NOLA then a 2-hr swamp tour without eating any breakfast, we were starving. Our tour guide recommend this place, and since he's been living in Breaux Bridge all his life we figured it couldn't be so bad. I never had crawfish before and I really wanted to try it so I got the crawfish boil. It was $18.95 for 3lbs (as of April 20, 2011). I have nothing to compare this experience so I'm going to say it was pretty tasty. I got them with mild sauce though, Im sure they would have been even better if I got hot. My bf got the steak with crawfish etouffe. He's not a big seafood fan but he said it was pretty good. Service was quick and friendly. There were also lots of locals eating there.

Great, unique, authentic Cajun place. Try the crawfish party burgers. Strange, but very good.

Had a chicken sandwich there, it wasn't bad but nothing to write home about.

My husband and I went to dinner here. First impressions weren't bad--seated promptly by friendly staff member, quick drink service. Asked the waitress what was good--she recommended the fried sampler platter for two. OK, we're in. Brought us a cup of gumbo and two spoons for the 'first course'. The gumbo was basically a ladle full of slightly burned roux poured over white rice with about 6 small shrimp swimming around. No other meat, no onion, no pepper. I ate a few spoonfuls and gave up, hoping for better with the platter. No such luck. The platter arrived with crawfish pie, fried alligator chunks, two strips of fried catfish, a crawfish ball, corn macoux, boudan ball and fries. The alligator chunks, catfish and fries were at least edible, not great, but edible. One bite of everything else was more than enough for me, although my husband manfully ate more of everything except the crawfish pie--the worst thing on the whole platter. There was grease floating on top (from the cheese topping?) and the one bite I hesitantly took was disgusting--tasted like hot, badly burned grease. If there was crawfish in it, you couldn't prove it by me because one bite was all I could manage and I really, really wanted to spit that one out. However, my southern upbringing just wouldn't let me. All in all, if you want good Cajun food, do not go there. Try Prejeans, Mulattes, even Popeyes.

Stopped here for lunch after a visit at the local salt mines. From the outside, it looks kinda run down and the place has some pretty tacky stuff around the outside, including a hideous metal crawfish. Inside of the place has a "honky tonk" look about it, local signs, sports banners, and television sets. One part of the room made me a bit leery, a section devoted to souveniers. Oh Oh, can anyone say tourist trap?! We were seated promptly and waitress got us menu's and drinks in quick order. Menu looks pretty cajun, lots of seafood, po boy's, red beans and rice, burgers, gumbo and mud bugs (crawfish). You can have your shrimp or crawfish grillled or fried. I choose the crawfish po boy with sweet potato fries. The other members of the party choose burgers, gumbo, red beans and rice and boiled shrimp. The sweet potato fries were really good. I have never had them before and these were really different. The crawfish po boy was likewise good, Crawdad was cooked in corn type batter and was hot and crisp without being greasy. Burgers looked huge and they were pronounced "tasty" as was the gumbo and red beans n rice. Table had all sorts of hot sauce and cajun spices for you to use, they also serve a bunch of local brews for those who want beer with their lunch. Place made me say, "I'm coming back here before I leave the area". Thats worth a five star in my book.

I am from Southern California. This place has the best food I have ever had! When I used to be a truck driver, and we would come through Breaux Bridge, it did not matter what load we had, how much time we had or didn't have, or what the situation was.....we (my co-driver and i), made a pact that anytime we come by exit 109, we would stop, park at Pilot truck stop, and go to Crazy 'Bout Crawfish. No excuses. If I was dying, and had to choose one place on earth to go and eat my last meal at, this would be the place. And I would get my usual order: 5 lbs platter of spicy boiled crawfish, large plate of fried alligator, and 2 Corona's with lime. The best meal ever!! I cannot wait to get there again. I have been craving their food for the last 2 1/2 years. Thank you Crazy 'Bout Crawfish for your delicious food and your extraordinary hospitality. I will definitely be back for more. I love you guys!!!!

While the food is amazing, the prices are high and the food takes forever to come out. I hope one of the waitresses boyfriends don't come in while you are dining cause you will never see your waitress again. Atmosphere is fun but plan 2 hours to eat.

I have been craving crawfish for almost a year now; probably because it has been almost a year since I have had crawfish last. This place was great. It was mainly great because the crawfish was amazingly delicious. It was perfectly seasoned, nice and hot, and great size. On Fridays they offer all you can eat crawfish for $22.00. Your other options are 3 lbs for $12 or 5 lbs for $20. Of course we got the all you can eat crawfish, being from LA we can really put down some crawfish, others may not be able to, but again, for us, $22 per person for all you can eat, not bad at all. As an "appetizer", we tried the crawfish cornbread. It was two cornbread rounds or muffins covered with crawfish etoufee. Yummy. The cornbread was not gritty at all, it almost had the consistency of cake. That is just the way I like it; it even had actual corn in the mix. The etoufee itself was much thicker than others I have had, and for me that was great. It was not greasy at all and had a very nice rich flavor; oh, and filled with crawfish. The DH decided to stop with the crawfish to try the fried breadpudding. He loves breadpudding and will basically get it where ever we go. Me, not so much. This one was much different than others I have tried. The DH claims that he loves this version and that it was very moist (i hate that word, he used it to watch me cringe!). Frying it did not change the consistency on the inside, but gave it a nice crunch on the outside, which is always welcome. The rum sauce (or so he is guessing) was very sweet. The only downside, in his opinion, were the raisins. For the crawfish, appetizer, desert, drinks, and tip, our total came out to about $80.00. In our opinion, not to bad for everything we had; the food is so worth it. So, all the food was great, so why the 4 stars instead of 5? Well, upon arriving to the place we noticed the parking lot was, well, less than welcoming. Water and mud filled potholes everywhere, jagged cement where there was cement, and when we got out the truck, the smell, uh the smell. Disgusting to say the least, we almost left, but the need of crawfish overcame the want for a kept up parking lot. The inside is not very big and is made to look even smaller from all the stuff. The decor inside, yeah, pretty much touristy, I guess. That kind of stuff doesn't bother me to much. The table was very sticky, not to mention everything on the table was very sticky. We knew we wanted crawfish and eventually breadpudding, but decided to look at the menu because other reviews. I did not get far, I saw the cornbread, told the husband and quickly closed the menu. It was sticky and completely overwelming. I do not like that in a menu. We watched as the servers zoomed right past us serving other tables, all the while passing and saying "We will be with you in a minute." When we finally did get service, the young girl was nice, but obviously rushed. We, of course, knew exactly what we wanted. She took our drink order, interrupted me when I was giving her our food order, and walked away for a minute. She then came back after putting in our drink orders (I guess) and finished taking our order. The crawfish came out in a very timely manner, however, (now getting to the quotes) the "appetizer" came out when we were just about finished with our first round of crawfish. The server even said "I am so sorry about this, I didn't know that y'all ordered these." Hmmm, I wonder, how long was it sitting under a light before she realized that was ours? Like I said, it was good though. The server was very good about re-filling our drinks and putting in another round of crawfish when we were ready. They all always seemed to be buzzing about, never really stopping to say hello, how was your meal, how are things going, you know, the small talk that makes a "mom and pop" restaurant a place you want to go. Speaking of mom, an older woman did emerge from the kitchen and went straight to a table of what we are guessing to be the important "regulars" (mainly because they were seated before us, but came in after us, and they knew them by name). She never went to any of the other tables to introduce herself and check on her patrons. Again, i'm into the small businesses that care about all there customers. In closing, the food was EXCELLENT!! The service, kind of slow and rushed, but they were nice. The building/decor, not so great; the DH even made the comment when we left saying "Well, the food is great, and it seems that they are doing really great business. However, you can tell they do not put any of their money back into the business." I wish they would, I think it could be ten times better, but really, does it matter for one more star. Besides, did I say, the food was AWESOME!

Eating good crawfish has always been on my bucket list. I could not have chosen a better place to eat it in the entire U.S. The crawfish were great, that atmosphere was great. It was just a all around wonderful experience.

Went here on the way to New Orleans with a party of 4. It was quick to get a seat and looked like most of the customers were locals (saw most of them saying hi and having small chat). Good thing my friend took off his Ohio State hat...because this is definitely LSU territory :) I ordered the Shrimp Etouffee...and considering it was the first time I had ever tasted it, I really didn't know what to expect. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't mind blowing or memorable. I went there around 2 weeks ago. When we went into NO, we had etoufee once again and it looked and tasted very different. I did like the feel of this place though, as it is very different from California.

In my frequent trips between New Orleans and various Texas cities this is one of my favorite spots to stop and eat. The place is a bit campy and has a very quirky design scheme with all sorts of random things everywhere. The food here is really good and I've found it to be much better than a lot of the other better known places in the area. The crawfish I've had here have been some of the most consistently large I've ever gotten and have always been fantastic. They have some good burgers, po boys, and their platters are good. I've found the service here to be very friendly and they have always taken good care of me. Other than the Blue Dog Cafe in Lafayette this is probably one of my favorite places in the area.

What a cool little place to duck into on your way to/from NOLA. Great art, good menu and very friendly staff. I had the softshell crab poboy with sweet potato fries. It was a great value. Their hamburgers are really good too (if my kid's hamburger is a point to judge from), hand formed patty and charred on the grill.

I loved it!!!!!!! I always stop there when I travel down the I-10. I lived in the French Quarter for seven years and was used to pretty good cajun food but "Crazy Bout Crawfish" is the best!!!. Art is always different when I visit and really good "folk art". If you drive down the I-10 ya gotta stop by! Wait staff is fast and really personable. I wish it was here in Florida!!!!!!. Mmmmmmmm I'm ready for a road trip!

My six boiled crabs were large and served with red potatoes and a small ear of corn. Sad to say, the crabs were not all that fresh, and one was even cold in the middle. My wife says her soft shell crab was nothing special, and I could say the same about the gumbo.

Was driving by on a Tuesday night, noticed they had all you can eat crawfish, crab, and shrimp, decided to check it out. The restaurant has a lot of cheap eats as well, but the all you can eat deal was 24.95. It was early season for crawfish, so market value was high and the all you could eat deal was the way to go (hence the $$$ price range). The atmosphere was great, felt very southern. Wasn't personally a fan of zydeco music, but now it will remind me of this place whenever I hear it again. They made a mistake at first and didn't serve us, but the owner apologized and we had great service afterward. As I was finishing my first batch of boiled crustaceans, they brought me a second without me having to even ask!! I was so full already I had to turn it down, and I just shared with others in my group that opted for the second serving. We shared some really good bread pudding and called it a night. The seasoning was done very well, and the dip is very good also. The only con is the second plate didn't come with any vegetables, which was a shame because the corn on the cob and the potatoes were excellent.

I have been here twice and my expectations have been exceeded both times. First of all, there aren't many local flavor joints open Mon - Tues in BB. Not just that, though. The food is very generous, authentic, and hot! The crab cakes are great, but I'd be game to try anything on the menu. I just had 3 lbs of crawfish very early in the season and am sure they may be some of the best I have all year! Great cajun atmosphere and lots of souveniers are here too! Give it a try :)

I stopped here for a bite on my way from Houston to Baton Rouge...needless to say...it was OK. Not really great...I thought the gumbo was a little pricey and a little thin on "fixin's" Nevetheless...it was the first bowl of gumbo I had ever had in Louisiana, so this joint scores a few points for nostalgia. The service was good and the sweet tea wasn't too bad... but do I think I'll ever go back?...probably not.

My wife and I have dined here a few times. Good burgers. On our last visit, however, the service was *terrible*... as bad as I've ever had anywhere. We waited for over twenty (20) minutes just to get some water and soft drinks. People who came in after us got their food way before us. After waiting almost an hour, my wife went to see the waitress who asked us if we were ready for our check. She didn't even realize that she'd never brought us any food! If you see the girl with the little square baseball cap (like the Pirates)... maybe you should consider dining elsewhere unless you've got *plenty* of time and really aren't all that hungry! Despite the pretty good food we've had in the past, we'd be pretty hard pressed to stop here again.

Yelp---It is what it is--The food is basically what you would find in a bar/grill. The wait staff was friendly and informative. The crawfish was ok but off season it's frozen and it does affect the quality. .They have garlic sauce I found there and only there that everyone should have. As you read other reviews the owner is there usually all the time and she was present during my visit. It's not that the owner is rude just disconnected to the tourist. It would serve her well to be the hostess and seat/greet the patrons.

This Little restaurant is Located just off I-10 in Breaux Bridge, LA. Restaurant Review: We had the Onion pedals for Appetizer. They were very good. Soups (Gumbo and Potato/tasso) both had a layer grease floating on top ( a sign of chef not knowing how to properly make roux based soup) Potato/tasso soup tasted good but chunks of tasso were HUGE way larger than bite size. Grilled Chicken was also a tad greasy but flavorful. All of the fried food was excellent. Shrimp were HUGE and cook perfect. Crawfish tails were same..very good. Atmosphere also very nice. painted ceiling tiles, nice Cajun style decor etc... Over all We give this place a Thumbs up but they just need to work on their soups, also service was a tad slow.

We had a fun swamp tour and our tour guide recommended two lunch stops in Breaux Bridge. Since I had read about this place on yelp we choose Crazy 'bout Crawfish. Stopped for a mid afternoon lunch. The place is cute, bright and festive. Seafood Platter for $17 was offered on the chalkboard sign. DH & I both ordered that. Our waitress was nice. Struck up a little conversation. Asked where we were from. *Note to all out of staters.. When you are asked this question, after you answer follow up with that you heard about the place on yelp. Otherwise you might end up with the french-fry platter like we did. Our "seafood" platters consisted of 3 shrimp, 2 little pieces of fish, mediocre shrimp ettouffee over eggplant, a crawfish cornbread muffin, 1 boudin ball, some fishy corn/crawfish chowder, a piece of garlic bread and lots of french fries. We were 2 of 4 people in the restaurant and our waitress went missing after our food came out. The other waitress was way too interested in the 2 young men at the other table to show us any attention. Our drinks went dry for a long time before I asked her for refills. For $17 I would expect more than 3 shrimp and a plate of french frys down in seafood country. Left very disappointed and feel we were ripped off. My seafood platter looked nothing like the other pictured here on yelp. So learn from our mistake..As I did at other restaurants. When they ask you where you are from, follow up that you saw them on yelp. If they think you are likely to leave a review you might get the real seafood platter.

If you are looking for a Cajun DIVE this is it!! Great boiled crawfish, cheeseburgers with homemade sour dough buns & don't forget the fried bread pudding with rum sauce!!! Casual dining experience with inside or outside dining. The server was very attentive & took great care of us. We will be back!!!

I stopped by here on my way to Lake Charles. I lived in Lafayette about 25 years ago and just love the the local fare. So whenever I get over that way I try to stop for some Cajun food. This place didn't disappoint. When I arrived it was raining and I pulled into the parking lot. I knew this pace would be good just by the size of the craters filled with water in the lot. The outside looks like a camp transplanted from Bayou Gauche. I ordered an Abita Turbo beer, 3 lbs boiled crawfish (spicy) and fried boudin balls. The wait was little long (2 beers) but when the food came out it was hot & tasty. The crawffish were just as ordered...SPICY!! They were cooked perfectly and the fried boudin ball were an added taste sensation. This place is not far off I-10 so if you're in the area and want good crawfish, try this place.

Food here is pretty good. The parking lot needs work with lots of pot holes but the owner reserved the best spot for herself. Odd.

A disappointing evening. I came to Crazy 'Bout Crawfish on the recommendation of some fellow motel guests and also liked the basic look of the place. I had postponed boiled crawfish at the Crawfish Festival thinking they would be really over priced. However, the festival price was lower for 3 pounds than CBC. I only came for crawfish so I thought it would be really quick but it actually took over 30 minutes to get my 3 pounds of boiled crawfish. The real disappointment was the taste. They tasted like they were boiled in plain water with nothing but pepper thrown in. Since I came only for crawfish, I have nothing else to up my rating from 2 stars.

Well my Fiancé and I decided to give this place a try. Big mistake!! First off, when the waitress greeted us,she was very Ghetto and loud.. My fiancé decided to try the boiled crawfish(supposedly 5lbs) extra spicy, even after the waitress informed us the the owners were trying to save money by giving the customers less than they ordered. I ordered the Shrimp festival. While waiting for our food for what seemed like at least an hour,we had to listen to this waitress talk to every customer about her problems at home and work. When the food finally arrived the supposedly 5lbs of crawfish was maybe 3lbs and they were defiantly not spicy they actually tasted like mud!! When I began to eat my dinner the first bite I took of the stuffed shrimp ruined my appetite. The shrimp was raw in the middle and disgusted me.. All this was a big waste of $80!!! We will never return to this place and would never suggest friends or family to eat there.. Or anybody for that matter!! Avoid this place at all cost!!

Shrimp po boys great and service and ambiance is awesome. Wanted pecan pie and they didnt have any, so waitress called around and found where we can get some. Worth the stop if traveling on i10.

  • Kerry W.

The atmosphere is laid back but the food is above average. The waitress Hanna was beautiful. This is a place that is definitely the local favorite. Some of the other places are tourist places, not this place. Definitely a great place! I will disappoint you, the waitress is leaving in a few weeks for college. So she will not be there when you get there. The pivots are loaded with shrimp and they serve po-mans gumbo (chicken and sausage) and seafood gumbo. Both of the gumbos had great flavor but is the consistency of soup or water. I prefer a thicker consistency, but every region in the state has their preferences. It is like chili, with or without beans, with or without meat... Depends upon where you are. I really loved the home made sweet potato fries.

Definitely cured our craving for that great Louisiana Cajun cooking! Very friendly, great service, thanks to our waitress, Kristen. Delicious food! We ordered the Cajun Seafood Platter-fried, of course, and loved it! Had some beignets, warm with small mounds of powdered sugar, so good! Sweet iced tea was great, too!

3.5 stars (REVIEW FOR DESSERT ONLY) We did not dine here for a full meal but only came for the highly recommended fried bread pudding. If you happen to like bread pudding, and specifically, the slightly crunchy top portion (as I do!), then this dessert will be heaven for you. The dessert comes as three deep fried balls sitting in a rum-based cream sauce. Because it is fried, you get a mild crunch in each bite and the middle is smooth and custardy. I ate a full lunch beforehand but was still able to devour mine! Because we didn't have a full meal here, my review is limited and I can't say more about Crazy 'Bout Crawfish as a restaurant overall. But because I am crazy 'bout their fried bread pudding, I'll take the liberty of rounding up to 4 stars.

2 stars not one just because I ended up getting lunch for free :( Decided to treat myself with a Cajun lunch on the road . Place was not busy, ordered crawfish etouffee over catfish because that sounded interesting. Took almost half an hour to get the meal, the gumbo was cold, the catfish breading was hard as nails, a tiny serving of etouffee over the fish, and fries. For $17 dish, it was extraordinarily underwhelming. When paying my bill, I mentioned this to the server who was nice, and then referred to the manager. I politely repeated my feedback on the meal, at that point the manager sarcastically handed back my card said "all that over 20 bucks, have a NICE day" in a very sarcastic tone and that was it. I was just looking to have a little bit of an interesting lunch, instead a real disappointment with a nasty attitude.

Pretty good crawfish. Had the 3lb plate with sausage. Very good amount of heat that grows on you as you eat. Size of creatures was very good mix of sizes. Some wen could pass for small fresh water lobsters. Service was not the greatest but the food taste would be worth going back and putting up with it. If on the area worth the stop.

I'll repeat what others have said it's a cute little place with super friendly staff. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken for drinks. Shortly after our orders were taken. A short wait under 15 minutes for hot food ( mine was hot, The Man's was warm) My order chicken & sausage gumbo... I just can't do the crawfish thing; I spent too much time as a kid catching them or watching friends so it in the mucky water, besides bottom feeders are not my type of water fish. The gumbo was very watery and had no okra; maybe, it's a local thing. The flavour was alright but nothing special. It did have nice size chunks of meats though. The Man ordered the Cajun special --- it was not hot. Overall it was ok, not much red beans. More fries and bread than main dish. The Man was happy it had a mild spiciness to it. I was not impressed. Dessert--- fried bread pudding! This was good! A bit of crunch with the thick gooey bread pudding and rum sauce. Add a cup of community coffee and it's a great dessert! My only regret is I had to share the dessert and I couldn't eat more of it.

Our Springbreak this year entailed taking Amtrak to NOLA. If you've visited NOLA a few times, Bourbon St gets old quick. So we rent a car and head to the Bayou. From the outside the place looks touristy. That and its proximity to the interstate had me skeptical. The boiled crawfish is offered at 3 levels of heat. We chose crazy which was the middle choice. We also ordered the crawfish platter. The etouffe was very good as was the crawfish cornbread. The boiled crawfish was great too. Service was great. Our server sat down and gave us crawfish lessons which I never really mastered. A customer offered a tip to wash our hands with a stainless steel knife as that would absorb the smell. I tried it and my fingers don't reek. So who knows! Great place to eat. Try it!

Stopped here before touring UL Layf with our daughter. Huge menu and everything looked good. Cool décor and you can view and purchase art. Full bar inside which is nice. We had the Shrimp and Alligator po boys. The bread was fresh and meat was tender and tasted fresh. A little more spice would have been nice but they have condiments at table to help with that.

Well when you come to Beaux Bridge it is only natural to have crawfish! I ordered a poor boy and it was loaded with mud bugs! Of course it is served on the best French Bread ever! The table is loaded with sauces. My fav is the in-house Crazy Garlic Sauce...bought a bottle of that to take home! Definitely worth a stop when you're in this neck of the woods.

I'm no expert, but loved the crawfish here! Helps that they were in season too. Great atmosphere, and friendly staff - Jon was great with his suggestions. We had the shrimp étouffée and the sausage jambalaya along with the pound of crawfish (which is a good size for one person IF you're intending on supplementing with other items. Came on a Saturday night, and visited with friendly locals ... Which to me says that if they eat at "CBC", it must be good, eh? :)

Ate here one week ago on a Sunday for lunch after baseball. Me, hubby, and 2 kids. Reviews were good so we were looking forward to it but we were not impressed. Service was slow and inefficient. We had to flag our server down several times. She seemed overworked so possibly the fault of being understaffed. The boiled crawfish were decent but I've had much better. I can't say any dish was bad, but basically mediocre. Just made me say "eh."

I'm only rating the Zydeco shrimp! It's awesome! Who knew that fried shrimp with hot pepper jelly on it could be so good?!?

Decor and atmosphere were fabulous. Service was excellent. The owner came and talked to us for a long time. The fried foods had great spice and flavor. Crawfish etouffee was not as good as I've had elsewhere, but the rest was terrific. Have to try the fried pickles; BEST we've ever had! Bought some seasoning to take home. Would definitely eat here again!

If you are driving on I-10 through Breaux Bridge, you need to drop by this great little place. Ate here on Dec 23 on the way to Houston from Atlanta. Lots of locals hanging out, friendly, sincere service, tasty food, FRESH CRAWFISH!

I have been wanting to go here for a long time so I was excited when we ended up in this area looking for dinner. The decor is adorable! That was about the only positive. It took almost an hour for our appetizer to come out, 4 boudin balls. In that hour we did not get refills on out drinks & barely saw our waitress. We did not get things asked for even after the second time asking. After about an hour & a half out food came out. I got zydeco shrimp which I've had other places & it's so good. The waitress said it was shrimp with pepper jelly. I assumed, & maybe assumed wrong, that it would be a pepper jelly sauce or maybe the pepper jelly would melt over the shrimp. When it came out it was fried shrimp with what looked like pepper jelly out of the jar just spooned on too randomly. We also were missing things, & those missing items didn't come out until we were done eating. I was very disappointed in the service mainly. There were lots of excuses but the problems continued through the whole meal. I would definitely not go back. There are way too many awesome restaurants in the area with fabulous service no matter how crazy the night!

Ok, so this was a very small restaurant, the menu was delightful, waiting staff was average. I really was not impressed with the service. Ordered a delicious shrimp poboy and was super excited. It was delicious and it came with fries..... But the entire meal was ruined when I realized they used water downed cheap "shur-fine" ketchup. Yes I said it.... They used cheap ketchup, then watered it town. Watery ketchup. What the hell? A place is going to go through the trouble to make great food and ruin it with watery cheap ketchup

Atmosphere was great but I was not impressed with the shrimp seafood platter- although the grilled shrimp were pretty decent, the rest was mediocre. I agree with everyone else too- way overpriced.

Do NOT get the boiled crawfish during off peak times! Yesterday I was on my lunch break around 1 o'clock just looking to get my fix of crawfish... and I'm still "paying for it" today. My best guess is that when they aren't boiling for the masses, that is 2 sacks or more, they measure out 3 or 5lbs of crawfish and boil them in a small pot and guess at how much they should scale down the seasoning and cook time. Here's why I think that. The amount of time it took to get my my crawfish was way more than the time it takes to grab them out of an ice chest but less than the time it takes to boil a large pot of water. They tasted like they were boiled in water with a dash of Tabasco sauce, I ordered the medium and they had a medium heat but NO flavor! The meat was rubbery instead of tender. Put it this way, I've had better crawfish at a Chinese buffet. I couldn't even suck the heads due to the lack of flavor and I, like most people born and bread in Louisiana, find that's the best part! The only place I've had worse crawfish is in Lake Charles where me and a certified Cajun couldn't eat more than 6 crawfish because they burned so bad, at least they had flavor although it wasn't much. I guess the closer you get to Nola the more flavor and less heat, and the closer you get to Lake Charles the more it's just burning water. I'm giving them 2 stars because the rest of their food is good and I haven't been there for their all you can eat crawfish when they are pumping out huge batches, which I have to try just because I want to know if that is just the way the capital of crawfish likes them or if I just caught the cook on a bad day.

Excellent crawfish boil. The "crazy" is nicely spicy and the "extra crazy" is more so. I liked the crazy a lot and it still allowed the crawfish flavor to come through well. A great lunch place.

Stopped by on my way out of Louisiana to get my last taste of Cajun. I wasn't at all disappointed but I've experienced better. Music and decor is what you would expect for the Cajun food they serve. Ordered the Fried alligator and immediately noticed I was out Whataburgered by my friend sitting next to me who ordered the Seafood platter - cheaper and a tastier variety. The amount was plenty but I'd encourage them to sauce it up a bit, literally offer more sauces. I'll come back again.

Decor: Not much to look at but, not impact on our decision to dine. Not particularly clean. We chalk this up to the small building and high volume of traffic. Parking: Ample out front and on side of the building Food: As good as cajun food gets. We had a lbs of crawfish as an appetizer and the we shared some gumbo, red beans and rice, and shrimp hoagie. All wonderful, we left with a doggie bag.

Just a solid place to go eat some crawfish and drink beer. Nothing spectacular but full of flare. If you want to have a beer with your crawfish go here, otherwise you can hit the Fruit stand just down the road. Had a good laugh when a guy from miami ordered the searing hot crawfish and rubbed his eye. Crawfish rookies are always entertaining to watch.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Louisiana. We aren't too familiar with the area so we searched yelp for gumbo since we know it originated from Louisiana and really felt any gumbo here would be good (despite the fact that we didn't go to New Orleans). We ordered a large gumbo and are totally disappointed. Tastes like chicken and sausage with some soup. No okra or anything. So weird and not the best taste. Worst $10 spent.. I mean it's edible but definitely not what we were expecting I must say that the people that work there are super nice though...

Fried catfish covered in crawfish étouffée: very good. Gumbo: too thick and tasted of bay leaves. The service was slow. I'm from S La so I'm particular about Cajun food.

$100.00 for 2 people all you can eat crawfish and the dumbest waitress in LA. Some crawfish good. Some cold. 20 min per order. I won't be back!

Not bad food here, We started off with the fried crawfish. I went ahead and got the boiled shrimp and sausage with the best ear of corn ever in it. My friend had the shrimp po boy and seafood soup both were good he informed me.

Was overnighting at the Pilot truck stop right down the road from this establishment. Glad this place was here as I didnt want fast food. This is a small place, maybe 30 customers max. Also very bright inside. Got seated right away. I pretty much knew what I was going to order since I glanced at the menu before I arrived. Wanted to try something new so I asked about the alligator, as I have never had it before. My server recommended grilled over fried. So I opted for the grilled version. Excellent suggestion by the server. And yes, it does taste like chicken. The gator would have been nice as an entree. For my entree I ordered the crawfish etouffee. This meal was ok. Nothing really stood out about it. I kind of make the same thing at home. It also showed up to my table luke warm, as it might have been sitting out a few minutes before the server picked it up. The potato slices they serve with it were actually pretty good. Cooked perfectly and excellent seasoning. Now, would I go out of my way to visit this place again? No. But, if I am in the area, I would definitely go back to try some more gator and other entrees.

Looking for the tourist center we spotted this little gem. Its eccentric and captures the Louisiana essence. I felt like I was at the fair with all the fried goodness. I had the a fried assortment of goodies (shrimp, crawfish, catfish bites). My bff had the po' boy i can't remember wat the filling was. We ordered dessert i had fried bread pudding which was awesome and my friend the fried oreos which i guess when fried turn soft. I enjoyed my visit and if im ever in teh area def visit again.

Really hope that someday, I'll get to come back here. I stumbled on this place and to say it was a pleasant surprise is an understatement. It's adorable and my soft shell crab po' boy was fabulous. Bold, but not scary seasonings. I was driving with my dogs and it was hot out, so had to get the order to go. Amazingly, my sandwich was juicy, but not drippy. I put hot sauce on the first half and it was wonderful, but I wondered if I was missing some of the subtleties, so ate the second half as prepared. Both sides were delicious. There were 3 crabs on the sandwich, which was about 10" long, included sweet potato fries and cost $8.50! Okay, to be honest, the sweet potato fries were a little soggy and droopy. However, the cinnamon sugar I was given to dip them in made up for it. Happily, I used the bathroom while waiting for the food and found it filled with locally made folk art--for sale. I bought a flying pig made of scrap metal pieces welded together and painted yellow and orange. It's a wonderful and delightful piece and it cost $38. Well, you never know when you're going to see such a place again, so you have to make the most of it. Nicole recommended the in-house pepper jelly, so I bought a jar. Also got two kinds of chow chow and the house hot sauce. All reasonably priced. Nicole put my goodies in a charming mesh sack along with a souvenir menu. In the meantime, one of the servers started telling me about her adventure with finding an alligator in the back of a friend's truck. She showed me photos on her phone of a 500 lb. alligator in the truck! In one, she was sitting next to it; I thought she was insane until she explained that the alligator was dead. None of this was a show--the server was talking with her colleagues and just included me in the conversation. Yes, it does sound like I'm some sort of anthropologist and yes, I wish I'd recorded the voice of the girl with the alligator story. And yes, this felt like something real. Somewhat better than real as it was clean, organized and took credit cards.

Really liked this place. Was small and cozy with a typical Louisiana ambience....staff was very friendly with plenty of Cajun charm! Would definitely visit again if I'm passing through!

What a find!!! Crazy 'bout Crawfish in Breaux Bridge, LA is a quaint well-cared for fun restaurant with awesome food! Being a little afraid to try these oceanic crustaceans the owner gave us a live demo on shelling and eating them. Our table ordered 3 pounds of crawfish (and had a tough time finishing the heaping plate ); étouffée on rice -wow! - yummy!; broiled & shelled crawfish - again - wow - awesome flavor. These items were CRAZY level spicy ness but the customer decides the level. We also had corn bread and in all our years have never had more flavorful bread with spicy flavor and crawfish baked right in. Also gumbo was part of what we ordered. Sausages with the crawfish and gumbo added more wonderful flavors to this sumptuous meal! If you feel like you need a walk after eating take some time at Lake Martin BUT watch closely for the'gators who may love you for lunch (especially if you have just eaten this delicious meal ). And we found out the music they were playing at the restaurant was by Mojo & the Bayou Gypsies - a zydeco band that makes you want to get on you feet and boogie! Make this a tradition to visit. And, in April join the fun for the white boots contest!!!

This is a little hole in the wall place, most of the patrons appeared to be locals since the waitress seemed to know the names of most of the people in the restaurant. There were highs and lows. The table hadn't been cleaned when we were seated, and we had to ask the waitress to wipe it off. We had a party of four, I ordered jambalaya, my wife ordered red beans and rice and a side of grilled vegetables, and the other two both had shrimp poorboys. The jambalaya was rather bland and the rice it was served on was undercooked, with some semi-hard grains in it. My wife's red beans and rice were excellent, as were her grilled vegetables. Oddly enough her rice was fine, one of us must have gotten the end of one batch, and the other the beginning of another. Both of the fried shrimp poorboys were good, but they had to have them with regular fries because they were out of sweet potato fries.

Stopped here on my way to New Orleans. The food was decent but the wait and service was kind of slow. There were only 2 waitresses for the entire packed restaurant. The po-boy was pretty good and less than $10 for a foot long sandwich! I got the soft shell po-boy which had 2 soft shell crabs! Those things are expensive and I got 2 which was awesome. The po-boy had lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The bread was soft and decent but nothing special. The batter on the soft shell crab had a cajun/spicy seasoning in it but I wanted more heat and Crazy 'Bout has about 4-6 spicy seasonings and sauces at the table. I also go the onion petals with the food which had a similar batter as the soft shell crab and it basically consisted of onion pieces about an inch long battered and fried. The onion petals came with pink spicy tarter like dipping sauce which was pretty good. Prepared to be full if you finish the whole thing. Fried foods do the the body bad because I was paying for it later.

In search of legit Cajun food, I stopped in here. It had the biggest sign in the area and I was pretty certain of what I was getting into when I entered: A semi-touristy, decent local food spot. I had a fried shrimp po boy special. The sandwich looked cheap and very "fast-foody". The shrimp's taste was actually quite good, despite looking like typical grocery store frozen shrimp. The mayo was very light, which I prefer, but just a heads up if you like more mayo, there was one thin squiggle down the middle. The fries were better than average. While the place had a very tourist-friendly decor, I still got the feeling that it was mostly a locals joint, and felt somewhat out of place.

I love this place. I'm a truck driver and i stop here every chance i get. Small establishment with big hospitality. The wait staff are courteous and observant of the customers. Had the priveledge to meet the owner and his wife...awesome down to earth people. I highly recommend to the down to earth crawfish fanatics such as myself. Can't wait yo get back.
